11 weeks

David and I have seriously lucked out with Miss Riley. She is SUCH a good sleeper and wakes up with the biggest smiles every morning. It has actually come to the point where we have the camera ready to catch those huge smiles and sleepy eyes, she's just so adorable!

Things with her 'day care' have been going great and David and I are extremely fortunate that we have family able to take care of her. She is already quite the social butterfly and doesn't seem to mind anyone... except her Grampa, lol. We're at 11 weeks now and she seems to getting taller every day and the cheeks get chunkier by the minute!

2 months old today!

Miss Riley is 2 months old today! She had her first shower (mommy was running late and maybe a little lazy), she did great - just a little confused.

She also had her 2 month vaccines, I'm not sure which ticked her off more, the fact that she had to stop eating for the mean lady or that the mean lady was poking her with needles! Once she was picked up she calmed down pretty quick and when she got to eat again it was like everything was right in the world. She now weighs 11lbs 5.2oz and is 23 1/2 inches tall; the size of her head is in the 50th percentile, her weight is in the 60 somethingth percentile and her height is in the 86th percentile (gee, I wonder where she gets that from).

After her Drs appt David took her to our nephew Jake's baseball game where she was adorably sporting their team colors blue & yellow. I can only wonder if the bow stayed on her head to show she really is a girl (I thought I was going to have to thump the nurse that kept calling her him today!). I've started making hairbows like a crazy woman, never really thought making hairbows would be the most relaxing part of my day! I'll have to get some pictures posted so ya'll can see just how adorable she is with them....

8 weeks already... Miss Riley is getting SO BIG! I just can not believe how much my little chunk-a-monk is growing! She actually doesn't look so small when David holds her anymore! We really don't have too many updates so I'll just share some pictures - I'm slackin a little the past couple weeks but I'll do my best to get some more soon. Feel free to leave comments!

How quickly things change...

I can not believe how lucky we are! Riley has been sleeping through the night (usually awake for about 10 minutes 1-2 times to eat but crashes right back out)! She's starting to sleep for longer periods of time each night and not only is she easy to get to sleep but she wakes up quietly and is so smiley! We haven't gotten the huge and uncontrolable baby smile yet but I can tell it's in the works! She's started to giggle and talks ALL the time, you'd think she was telling you the biggest story ever with how excited she gets.

We think her eyes have decided what color they want to be (they have been steely since birth) and they are starting to turn REALLY blue! Her hair is lightening so she is going to be one VERY blonde little girl with gorgeous blue eyes. I can't wait to see David trying to do her hair.... We actually got her a onesie that says 'don't laugh, daddy dressed me', although so far I have to say he's done a pretty good job - he even picks out socks that match!

Riley- 7 weeks

Riley is getting so big! She has outgrown her newborn clothes and has surely gotten much heavier. In the past couple weeks she has started to smile (she has an adorable smile just like her daddy!), giggle and seems to be quite the talker, although right now Bosco is the only one that 'understands her'.
The dogs have actually handled her taking most of their attention pretty well, Bosco is still pretty curious about all her noises and Peyton has a look that says "isn't it time for that thing to go home yet?". The two of them have become much closer since Riley has been home, maybe they feel they have to stick together. I think they're starting to accept her more and more every day, baby steps are better than no steps!
David and I are both back at work so Riley spends most of her days with David's sister Diana (who's 4 older kids are in and out of the house and spend a little bit of time with her). They have two dogs also that seem to be just as retarded as ours are, only a little more excited to see her in the mornings. One day out of the week she goes to Papa Dave's (David's dad), he has two dogs too - I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Riley's first word was 'puppies'! So far the arrangement is working out great (at least for us!) and Riley is doing really well.
